Payment

  • What payment methods are accepted?

    Accepted payment methods on surfacebatteryshop.com are: PayPal, credit card, and debit card. Usually, the settlement of e-checks and pending payments takes 3-4 business days.

  • Do I need a PayPal account to pay?

    No. You can pay with a credit/debit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover) or eCheck – all without having a PayPal account. After being redirected to the PayPal site, click on the "Pay with a debit or credit card" tab.

  • Is PayPal secure?

    Yes. PayPal uses SSL technology to protect your data. Additionally, if you send a payment through PayPal, the recipient will not receive sensitive financial information, such as your credit card number or bank account number. This means you don't have to worry about paying people you don't know. PayPal is designed from the ground up to be a safer way to send money online. Your financial information will not be sold or shared with any merchant or seller.

  • Why was my credit card payment declined?

    All payment processing is handled by an independent, secure payment processor. surfacebatteryshop.com does not provide any payment information. Check the following information and contact your credit card issuer if the problem persists:
    1. Incorrect billing information
    2. Insufficient funds
    3. The card has been reported lost or stolen
    4. The card has expired
    5. The card has not been activated
    6. The card cannot be used to pay for goods/services in a situation where the cardholder is not present (online/internet)
    7. 3-D Secure (MasterCard SecureCode and Verified by Visa) has not been activated
    8. Credit limit has been reached
  • Why is my payment status still "pending"?

    A payment made via e-check will be processed in PayPal after a few days. The status will be pending, and we will not ship your order until it has cleared.

Shipping

  • How long will it take for the item to reach me?

    Please note that business days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, are counted in terms of delivery time. To find out the specific delivery date, visit our shipping page.

  • What should I do if my package never arrives?

    In most cases, your products will be delivered within the estimated delivery time. If the package still doesn't arrive, contact our customer service via email or the submit a request option. We will get back to you shortly.

  • Can I change my order after it has been processed?

    Generally, orders cannot be changed after they have been placed. However, if you contact us immediately after placing the order, we will try to accommodate the change. If the order has already been shipped, we cannot make any changes.

  • How can I check the status of my order?

    We will usually send you a tracking number within the next few business days. If you have any questions, click here to contact us, and our customer service center will respond within 24 hours.

Technical Support

  • I don't plan to use my Surface for a few months. How should I store it?

    Never store a lithium battery completely full or completely empty for long periods.

    1. The 50% Rule: For long-term storage, charge or discharge your Surface to approximately 50%.
    2. The Danger of 0%: Storing a battery at 0% can lead to a "deep discharge" state, where the safety circuit flips and the battery can never be recharged again.
    3. Store it Cool: A cool, dry place is ideal.
  • My original battery is 10.8V, but yours is 11.1V. Is it safe to use?

    Yes. 10.8V and 11.1V are essentially the same voltage rating for lithium-ion batteries and are fully interchangeable. They will not damage your Surface or affect its performance. For example:

    1. 3.6V / 3.7V
    2. 7.2V / 7.4V
    3. 10.8V / 11.1V
    4. 14.4V / 14.8V
  • Do I need to charge the new battery for 12 hours the first time?

    No need. Modern Li-ion batteries don't have a "memory effect." However, we recommend a full charge-discharge cycle for the first use: charge it to 100%, then let it run down to 5%. This helps your Surface calibrate the battery life display accurately.

  • How do I know if this battery is compatible with my Surface?

    The most reliable way is to check the 4-digit Model Number on your device (e.g., Model 1724) or the Battery Part Number (e.g., G3HTA038H). You can find these details in our Identification Guide. If the numbers match, the battery will fit and function perfectly.

    If you are still unsure, contact us and our support team will help you find the right battery.

  • How long will this replacement battery last?

    Our Surface replacement batteries are engineered with high-quality cells designed for 500+ charge cycles. With normal use, you can expect 2–3 years of reliable power, comparable to the original performance.

  • How can I make my Surface battery last longer overall?

    Think of your battery as having a finite number of "heartbeats" (charge cycles). To preserve them:

    1. Avoid Extreme Heat: Heat is the #1 enemy of lithium cells. Don't leave your Surface in a hot car or use it on soft bedding that blocks ventilation.
    2. Don't Let it Die: Frequently running the battery down to 0% is stressful for the cells. Try to plug it in before it hits 10%.
    3. Keep it Updated: Microsoft often releases firmware updates that optimize battery charging algorithms. Staying updated actually saves your battery.

Warranty & Returns

  • What is RMA?

    RMA stands for Return Merchandise Authorization. Customers wishing to return items must request an RMA. After RMA authorization, customers can return items by printing the return address on the label.

  • What is the return process at surfacebatteryshop.com?

    Warranty items can be returned for a refund or exchange.
    To successfully apply for RMA, only 5 steps are required:
    1. Submit a Return RMA request at here
    2. Describe in detail why you want to return the item. For example, what is wrong with the item? Is it defective? A detailed description will help us resolve the issue beforehand.
    3. Send us a photo or video that better illustrates the issue.
    4. After returning the item, inform us of your expected choice. Would you like an exchange or a refund?
    5. Then click Apply, and the RMA will be successfully submitted. You will receive a response within 1-2 business days.
  • Can I return products without requesting an RMA?

    Absolutely not. You must request an RMA regardless of which products you want to return, as we need to refund you or exchange products according to the received RMA number.

  • Should I provide a tracking number after returning an item?

    Yes, tracking the returned product is necessary.
    Note: surfacebatteryshop.com is not responsible for missing returns, so a tracking number is required on your part.

  • When can I receive a refund after returning an item?

    After RMA approval, you will receive an RMA with the return address within 1-2 business days. You can print the "Return Shipping Authorization" label with the return address and other information and attach it to the package for further processing of the refund or exchange.
